WINTER CHALLENGER PROFILE - Meet Toni!

Meet Toni! In this chat, Toni shares why she signed up, how she’s finding the challenge so far, and what’s keeping her moving (even on the cold mornings!). Whether you're mid-challenge or thinking of joining the next one, Toni’s story and challenge tips might be just the inspo you need!

How long have you been coming to SCOUT and how many challenges have you participated in so far?

I've been coming to SCOUT for a little over a year now, but this is my very first challenge! It's a big personal milestone for me.

What made you want to join the June challenge?

Honestly - peer pressure, but the good kind! My friend Michelle encouraged me to give it a go with her - I'm stoked she did. It's been such a powerful experience - it's the first time I've felt truly safe and supported in a fitness space and not just because there are bolsters and calming scents.

What is one class you never miss in the week?

I'm obsessed with adding a stretch class each week. It helps me reset and feel grounded. I will always make Barre with Amber on a Friday morning where I can because she's an absolute gem - even though when she says she has a "fun" class planned you know it's gonna hurt!

Morning classes or evening classes?

Evening usually because mornings are for walking my dogs. I like to roll in post-work chaos and leave feeling like a zen goddess - the PM schedule gives me something to look forward to that's just for me.

Is there any class you’re planning on trying during the challenge?

I've tried so many new ones that I was intimidated by - it's been the perfect time to step out of my comfort zone and try something new - I've hit my first Elevate, Circuit and Strength already!!

What is your favourite thing about the challenge so far?

The sense of community! Seeing familiar faces in class, the instructors and peeps cheering each other on makes it feel like we're all in it together. Plus, the little wins - like ticking off each class - super satisfying!

What tip would you give to someone who is doing it for the first time?

For the practical part - schedule classes as appointments with yourself in the calendar and definitely bank a few double ups stretch or yoga with ANYTHING - that way you are ahead if you are out for a day or two.

For the rest? Lower the bar- like, physically and emotionally. Don’t overthink it. Just show up, breathe and pretend you love the burn!
