LUCY BEAUMONT

Director

Teacher certifications: Mat, reformer, pilates equipment and 200-hour yoga qualifications. 

Specialty: I love teaching on the MAT - the real OG. 

Classes you teach at Scout: reformer, mat, barre, and privates. 

Teaching style: Dynamic, functional, and (hopefully) always delivers 'that burn'.

Goal as a teacher: For students to be impressed by their own strength, flexibility and endurance. We often aren't aware of what our bodies can do and just how amazing they are! 

What do you do when you’re not teaching? A love of mine is making Scout the best experience possible - both for our wonderful clients and team - it's a big part of my life! Outside of that, you can find me hanging out with my people (and my dog Ollie) in one of my inner west fave spots (probably with a natty or martini).

ELLEN DRISCOLL

Specialty: I love exploring the original mat work moves in new ways.

Teaching style: Playful - I like to explore, sweat and have fun! I also make really bad jokes - you’re welcome! 

Goal as a teacher: My goal as a teacher is to empower my students to make choices for their own body, whether by choosing the layer in an exercise that feels right for them, to try something new, or to give something old a go again to see what improvements they can make! 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I’m not at Scout, I’m working on my novel or hanging out with my favourite people.

BREE HEMSLEY

Studio Manager Marrickville

Teacher certifications: 200hr YTT + 50hrs Pre-Postnatal Yoga + 200hrs additional Yoga + Barre TT + Mat Pilates TT + Reformer TT.

Specialty: Creative sequencing in Vinyasa.

Classes you teach at Scout: Yoga, Mat, Barre & Reformer.

Teaching style: Encouraging and supportive.

Goal as a Teacher: I aim to help students achieve a little something in class that may have seemed a little out of their reach. I would also love for all my students to feel a bit lighter after each class.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: Some adventures with my dog, Bear. 

VEE WIESHEU

Pilates Learning & Development Manager

Teacher certifications: Reformer, Mat , pre-postnatal, Fitness cert 3+4.

Specialty: To meet clients right where they are on any day, and have them leave class feeling successful. I always focus on technical precision to ensure everyone’s safety. My classes are dynamic, challenging, yet fun !

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer Pilates, Pace & Power, mat Pilates.

Teaching style: Dynamic, fun, always welcoming and with banging playlists.

Goal as a teacher: I am deeply committed to inclusivity. I strongly believe that Pilates is for everyone, regardless of age, ability or fitness level. Witnessing the transformation and growth of my students fuels my passion and brings me immense fulfilment. I also love to take people in the injury-recovery process back on their feet.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: Enjoying the sun, the beaches, running, hanging out with my dog Django and a nice cold wine after a long week gives me the greatest joy and balances me out nicely.

 

CAMILLE JACQUET

Social Media & Events Manager

Specialty: My classes have a strong focus on alignment of the body blended with creative sequencing often leading to a peak pose.

Classes you teach at Scout: Open Flow, Prenatal Yoga & Yin Yoga.

Teaching style: Grounding and nurturing, with uplifting playlists.

Goal as a teacher: My hope as a teacher is to help my students slow down, disconnect from their busy lives and to trust themselves more by guiding them into exploring poses they didn’t think they could one day achieve!

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When not teaching, you’ll find me either at the beach or hanging out with my people and/or my little bunnies. You’ve got high chances of finding me on my yoga mat too as I try to practice as much as I can!

DANA DEGRAZIA

Teacher certifications: Cert IV Matwork & Reformer.

Specialty: I love teaching beginners! I love welcoming new people to class and getting them on the reformer for the first time. Helping people achieve that first little pilates burn is so satisfying!

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer Essentials and Body Blaze. 

Teaching style: Supportive & encouraging. I try to encourage people to go that extra mile or hold a little longer.

Goal as a teacher: I try really hard to create a safe and playful space where people can try new things and build their confidence. Many people come to class afraid of doing the wrong thing or "messing up". My philosophy is that pilates is not a performance and exercising should be fun, safe and fearless! 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I'm a podcast addict. I listen to so many. I love learning new things, catching up on the news, D-list celeb gossip, royal history, etc. If you're ever in need of a podcast recco I'm your gal! 

DAVID HELMAN

Teacher certifications: 500hr YTT Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, 50hr YTT Sri Vidya Lineage with The Practice, 50hr Pranayama TT with Yoga Education Collective, 20hr Restorative Yoga TT, 20hr Yoga Nidra TT, BodyArt, FlyGym.

Specialty: I honour the traditional lineages of Hatha and Vedic Yoga. My sequencing is influenced by subtle energetics with a deep focus on Pranayama/Breathwork. I LOVE Yoga Nidra & Meditation.

Classes you teach at Scout: Yoga, Stretch & Release.

Teaching style: Breath-focused, soothing & grounding.

Goal as a teacher: I strive to help others connect to their deep sense of self to find freedom, whether that be through the physical body or the energetic. I enjoy guiding others in making their practice uniquely personal, attainable, and sustainable. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I am an award-winning pole dancer and circus performer. You can often find me hanging upside down or enjoying pizza with my cats. I also help others find healing with Reiki, Crystal Dreaming, Tarot & Massage.

NATALIE HURST

Teacher certifications: Cert IV in Pilates Matwork and Reformer, Barre and 250 hour yoga.

Specialty: Layered 360 flows on the reformer & mat.

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer (Essentials, Parents & Cubs). 

Teaching style: Empowered with creative flows.

Goal as a teacher: My goal is for students to feel like they've stepped into 50 minutes for themselves, had fun and to have left feeling a sense of empowerment. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I'm not teaching you can find me on walks around Sydney Park with my 2 dogs and heading away camping on the weekends!

 

JANE KRESS

Teacher certifications: Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, cert IV in fitness, pre and post-natal.

Specialty: You will find my classes have a mix of creative sequencing but always founded around the basics! I love nothing more than a glute burn, core burn and upper body pump.

Classes you teach at Scout: I teach all kinds of styles at Scout it is hard to get away from me! (Reformer and Mat Pilates) 

Teaching style: A designed flow that is focused, considered and adaptable.

Goal as a teacher: To empower clients to feel strong and capable in their abilities and bodies during class. I want clients to feel like they have achieved something in class whether that be a workout, time for themselves or just having fun !

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I love going for an ocean dip or a walk with the pups. Your girl also loves to Brunch and spend time cooking whether that be the best steak ever or baking up some cinnamon scrolls.

MANDI JACKSON

Teacher certifications: Mat, Reformer, Pilates Equipment, Barre, Yin Yoga, Yoga Therapy, and 500-hour Hatha Yoga qualifications.

Specialty: Posture improvement, strength, presence, and relaxation.

Breath-focused, dynamic, strong, functional, and centering.

Goal as a teacher: My goal is to help students get out of their heads, feel powerful in their bodies, and utilize the breath to develop more peace and focus.

What do you do when you’re not teaching:If I'm not at the studio I'm usually at the skate park in my roller skates, cuddling my dog, creating art, or spending time in the kitchen making something epic for dinner. 

HALIMI CASTELLANOS

Teacher certifications: Cert IV Mat & Reformer Pilates.

Specialty: Dynamic and creative sequencing.

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer Essentials.

How would you describe your teaching style? A spicy, full-body burn. Focusing on inclusive, creative and contemporary 360-degree programming for all levels.

Goal as a teacher: Motivate my clients to indulge in movement – to be confident in their body’s ability and strength, and to be a positive and empowering addition to their routine. Whether it’s lighter, looser, aligned or energised – I just want my clients to leave feeling better (and sweatier) than when they started.

What do you do when you’re not teaching? When I’m not at the studio, I work full-time as a copywriter. My weeks are always full-on so come the weekend – it’s the simple bits: getting outdoors, catching up with mates… and of course, wine and margherita pizza.

CLARE STACK

Teacher certifications: Pilates Reformer & Pilates Mat instruction.

Specialty: I enjoy welcoming new students to the practice and ensuring advanced students are challenged and inspired! I support and care for all people of all physical abilities and all life stages in their Pilates journey.

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer Essentials.

Teaching style: True to good Pilates technique, creative and fun (and good tunes!)

Goal as a teacher: I aim to instill confidence in one’s own physicality and freedom of movement. My goal is that members leave the studio feeling that they are “walking on air”.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: Be in nature, art (make + view + curate), hang out with family & friends, music (listen + see), plants and healing.

 
 

NETANYA GODFREY

Teacher certifications: Cert III & IV in Fitness and Pilates (Mat work and Reformer) 

Specialty: I pride myself on the inclusiveness of my classes by providing everybody an opportunity to just MOVE YOUR BODY however you need on the day. Whether clients are pregnant, coming out of injury or just new to Pilates I want them to feel confident and safe within their practice.  

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer.

Teaching style: A very holistic approach to exercise by empowering clients to work hard but also take time for themselves. Exercise is essential for our bodies, and you should feel good doing it. Another huge part is communication, it definitely needs to be a two-way street. 

Goal as a teacher: That clients feel empowered to listen to their bodies- in my classes I love to coach correct technique and allow them to explore their own practice and intensity through the layering of movements. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I'm juggling my life by studying full-time, learning to swim instructing, and embracing my new life in Sydney. 

EMILY ROBINSON

Teacher certifications: 300-hour teacher training in Vinyasa, 50 hour Trauma informed yoga.

Specialty: Nervous system support and creative sequencing. 

Classes you teach at Scout: Fundamental Flow and Open Flow.

Teaching style: A slow flow style that focuses on the traditions of practice that promotes self enquiry and connection to self through the body, breath and mind. 

Goal as a teacher: My Goal as a teacher is to help students feel connected to their bodies and leave the practice feeling calm and centred. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I'm not teaching I am working as a therapist specialising in couples work and trauma therapy. I also love any excuse for a good dance and beach swim. 

KATE ROBERTSON

Teacher certifications: 650hrs YTT including Advanced and intuitive sequencing, Energetic Alignment, Soulful Masters (subtle body) Training with The Light Collective, Vinyasa.

Specialty: My offering is inspired by the importance and interplay of subtle energetics, physical anatomy and individual inquiry.

Classes you teach at Scout: Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative.

Teaching style: I draw influence from our everyday life, philosophical inquiry/interpretation, re-connection with the body, and the ways in which we want and deserve to feel so my style follows those energies: sometimes it's up and sometimes is a work-in-progress!

Goal as a teacher: Personal agency and feeling safe & supported are paramount for me. It is my heartfelt commitment to ensure you feel fully met, encouraged to feel all the feels and have full 'permission' to respond and express yourself in intuitive, unique and organic ways.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I’m devoted to my dog Paddington. She is the furry centre of my universe and my whole world happily revolves around her.

DIANA VASSILENKO

Teacher certifications: BodyMindlife 200hr YTT, Backbending 30hr YTT, Talia Sutra The Method: Flexibility 30hr YTT, 50hr Yin YTT, 50hr Advanced Energetics YTT.

Specialty: Backbending and flexibility.

Classes you teach at Scout: Enhanced Flow, Fundamental Flow and Restorative Yoga.

Teaching style: Dynamic, fun and creative. It is very much inspired by the Ghosh Lineage of yoga as taught by Talia Sutra.

Goal as a Teacher: For students to go past their comfort zone with a sense of playfulness, having a laugh or two. My goal is for the students to develop a sense of empowerment, peace and clarity, being able to recognise their infinite inner strength and capacity to become one with themselves.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I work part-time as a marketing researcher at The University of Sydney. However, in my free time, I love to practice more yoga, paint, go for hikes, read, cook, and a recently developed hobby of mine is pole dancing. I also work as a content creator and manage a YouTube channel where I teach yoga. 

 

LIZ MARCOBELLO

Teacher certifications: STOTT Reformer Certified, Barre and Pilates Mat.

Specialty: I place an emphasis on the dichotomy of strong and supple - the fine balance of achieving both in a session is what drew me to Pilates in the first place. In other words, a very balanced workout. 

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer and Barre

Teaching style: I place a strong emphasis on 'dropping in' to the class when we begin warm-up. So it always may seem like a calm beginning, but trust that I will take you through the ebbs and flows of class. Many options for modifications, but I will champion you through the challenges!

Goal as a teacher: My goal is to have students feel in awe of their own capabilities and proud of themselves for simply showing up, and making time for movement in their busy day!

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I've been a working performer for most of my life and love acting. I'm never without a book. And as a wilderness-lover, I relish any opportunity to go for multi-day hikes, skiing, or snorkelling reefs!

JULIEANNE NICOLAS

Teacher certifications: Studio Pilates International. Certified Matwork Pilates and in-studio Barre trained.

Specialty: Matwork Pilates will always be my baby! I am constantly in awe with what Mat Pilates can do for the body. 

Classes you teach at Scout: Mat Contour + Condition and Barre Burn.

Teaching style: Dynamic, Strong and Effective! 

Goal as a teacher: For every member to leave each class feeling more energised and confident than they did walking in. My classes are challenging, yet achievable and hence, my ultimate goal is for each member to get stronger and stronger week after week! 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I'm a nature girl, so if I'm not busying studying, I'm somewhere out in nature, whether that's a swim in the ocean, a hike in the national park, snorkling or kayaking down the river. 

APRIL SKERL

Teacher certifications: Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates. 

Specialty: I enjoy creating the occasional flows that have a slow burn with a gradual build on muscles which you can feel the next day. 

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer Essentials, Body blaze, Power Jump, and Prenatal. 

Teaching style: My teaching style always has a base of classical and then I build to contemporary in the flow if it suits the strength of the students. Not to mention the occasional dad joke thrown in now and then. 

Goal as a teacher: After my classes, my goal is for clients to feel strong and positive in their bodies and confident in themselves that they can come back for more. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I’m not teaching I love going to pilates classes myself or to the beach.  

GEORGINA NORTON SMITH

Teacher certifications: Mat Pilates (100 Hours), Reformer Pilates (100 Hours). 

Specialty: Creative flows that utilize every part of the reformer in new and interesting ways challenging the mind and the body.  

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer.

Teaching style: Full body workout in every class. You'll always find a spicy lunge and ab series in my classes focusing on different exercises to target and fire up the hamstrings, glutes and obliques. Every exercise has multiple progressions, so the challenge is in the students hands and they can choose to push themselves as much as they feel comfortable.

Goal as a teacher: For clients to leave feeling centered and satisfied like it was worth every second of their time. Whether that means challenging themselves with their spring load, to playing with a more advanced modification, or even just showing up.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I am doing freelance fashion PR and event production and for fun, I'm trying out the latest bars and restaurants Sydney has to offer, especially a few favourites in Newtown! 

 

PAMPA ESCALANTE

Teacher certifications: Reformer

Specialty: I love teaching the reformer essentials class which is for beginner to intermediate level. Also, teaching reformer stretch is a new passion of mine!

Teaching style:
Encouraging and nurturing, I like to provide spicy, energetic workouts in a fun, inclusive way. You can expect good tunes and getting sweaty!

Goal as a teacher: To make a positive impact in people's day to day life by making movement enjoyable, no matter where you are at.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I'm not teaching you can find me either at the beach with my partner or attending classes at the studio, I aim to take as many classes as possible!

TALIA KUO

Teacher certifications: Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates, Cert IV in Dance.

Specialty: I particularly love teaching creatively sequenced classes, with special focus on technique.

Classes you teach at Scout: Mat - Contour + Condition and Reformer.

Teaching style: Relaxed, playful and creative.  

Goal as a teacher: I want the students to feel understood in each class - working to their fullest potential but feeling as though they aren’t working within a strict regime. They ideally will feel as though they are supported, yet challenged. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I love dancing in my spare time - it is my other profession, and something I’m extremely passionate about. I spend at least half an hour a day jamming out with friends or doing some kind of more traditional dance training. 

KATIE REMOND

Teacher certifications: MCert 3&4 in fitness, Reformer Pilates, Secondary Human Movement School Teacher, Primary School Sports Teacher, Special Needs Educator.

Specialty: personal- equestrian, triathlon, tennis, hockey, water skiing. teaching - Reformer Pilates- flow and circuit, outdoor bootcamp - strength & conditioning, boxing, running/fitness, and kids! 

Classes you teach at Scout: All styles of Reformer.

Teaching style: Calm, flowing, but challenging with a fitness-based approach. 

Goal as a teacher: To create challenging and fun workouts for the overall body without exhausting students so they leave feeling energised both mentally and physically. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: In my free time when I’m not teaching Pilates, school kids or instructing a bootcamp I am training for Ironman races. It’s not a chore, but my favourite leg of triathlon training is cycling, because I believe the further the distance traveled the more Tuga croissants you’re allowed. 

JAIMIE LAVERTY

Teacher certifications: Diploma in Clinical Pilates and Bachelor in Contemporary Dance. 

Specialty: Mindful Movement - featuring a full body burn.

Classes you teach at Scout: Barre, Reformer, Circuit, Studio and Mat Pilates.

Teaching style: I have calm energy too. I focus on form and flow, and I want you to get what you want out of the class.  

Goal as a teacher: I want my clients to leave the class feeling decompressed from their day, a little taller and a whole lot stronger 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I am currently studying, doing a Masters in Social Work. When I’m not working im at the beach or eating delicious food with friends or family. 

 
 

LUCIA WARD

Teacher certifications: Reformer, Barre and Mat.

Specialty: Promoting a mind-body connection in my classes while giving our amazing clients a strong workout!

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer Pilates.

Teaching style: I aim for my classes to be the full experience; Breathwork to connect back to our body, a fun full-body burn, and a few laughs along the way.

Goal as a teacher: For clients to feel empowered, to feel stronger in their bodies and minds. I really want my classes to feel fun, not intimidating with all of the layers so you can go as hard as you need that day.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I am not teaching at the minute I am learning, I’m completing more Pilates training and also recently completed Reiki level 1. I also work Monday to Thursday as a Buyer for an Australian womenswear brand. 

LIZ HELSTROOM

Teacher certifications: Polestar Pilates and Barre Body.

Specialty: New, creative sequencing, inventive use of props, full body burn, and catering for all levels!

Classes you teach at Scout: Mat Contour + Condition and Barre.

Teaching style: I love making my classes super challenging but also super fun!  You might be dying but you'll be smiling :)

Goal as a teacher: My goal is to make everyone feel comfortable, to get their sweat on, and to come out of class feeling strong and on-top-of-the-world.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: Hang out with my beautiful puppy dog Rosie. She loves licking my ear when I'm practising Pilates from home!

AMIEE HERSHAN

Teacher certifications: Diploma in Pilates instruction PITC. Progressive ballet technique teacher training. Barre body teacher training. On my way to becoming and educator for PITC. 

Specialty: A traditional Pilates style. I’m really good with older bodies and I have rehabbed a lot of back injuries and worked with a lot of severe scoliosis cases.  

Classes you teach at Scout: Reformer Pilates, Mat pilates and the occasional Barre class cover.

Teaching style: I’m really into precision in my classes. Simple movements done well. To prepare students for those delicious creative classes.

Goal as a teacher: I always say to my class, I KNOW you have the power to do this, now YOU need to believe in yourself. I want my students to come out confident and maybe feeling a little taller, but overall happy.  

What do you do when you’re not teaching: I’ve recently started baking. It’s really good for me and my silly old brain!

FIORELLA RAFAEL

Teacher certifications: Barre & Pilates, certified with Barre Body.

Specialty: Barre for beginners! 

Classes you teach at Scout: Mat Contour & Condition, Barre Burn.

Teaching style: Dynamic and playful.

Goal as a teacher: For clients to feel empowered by what their bodies can do for them no matter their fitness level.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I am not teaching, I am a Project Manager at Digital Marketing agency. 

 

KITTY REDDINGTON

Teacher certifications: Over 1500 hours of training: 800hr Jivamukti YTT,  680hr Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy, 70hr Insight Yoga Training (Yin).

Specialty: I love teaching a strong vinyasa class, but my specialty is in Therapeutic Yoga and Functional Breathing.

Classes you teach at Scout: Yoga.

Teaching style: My classes are strong and alignment-focused, but as a teacher, I encourage the students in my classes to have their own unique internal experience of the practice by building their awareness.

Goal as a teacher: I hope that the students who attend my classes feel motivated at the end of practice, that they've learned something new about themselves and their bodies, and most importantly are less stressed and anxious than when they walked in the door.

What do you do when you’re not teaching: Right now I am really into sheep herding. My partner and I take our three-year-old Border Collie Jasper every Saturday morning. 

KELLY NEWTON

Teacher certifications: 200hr RYT, 50hr Super Sequencing.

Specialty: Playful sequencing that breaks down the complexity of poses and their alignment. I want you to know the why as well as the how! 

Classes you teach at Scout: Yoga classes.

Teaching style: Fun, detailed and hands-on. 

Goal as a teacher: For students to feel better walking out of class than they did walking in – mentally as well as physically. I really hope for my students to feel more present and grounded, and to connect with movement in a non-competitive way that’s about the experience, not the outcome. 

What do you do when you’re not teaching: When I’m not teaching or on the mat myself, I’m usually pole dancing, eating my way through Sydney’s delicious restaurants, travelling, reading (furiously trying to hit my goal of 75 books this year!),  and spending time with my two gremlins/rescue kitties!

JAMIE LI

Teacher certifications: Pilates Mat work, Pilates Reformer, Cert III in Fitness, Cadillac and Wunda Chair.

Specialty: Movement that challenges the mind and body, explore the possibilities and help clients to build their confidence.
