SCOUT INSTRUCTOR SERIES - MEET MADISON!
Meet Mads! From early St Peters client to fully trained Scout instructor, Mads has loved Pilates from day one. We chatted with her about her passion for teaching, what to expect in her classes, and the fun, and energy she brings every session.
How long have you been teaching and for how long at Scout?
Hi, I'm Maddie. I have been teaching at Scout since April this year, and have been teaching for about a year now, which is really exciting. But I've actually been coming to Scout since Lucy opened the very first Scout Studios in Saint Peters!
What’s your favourite class to teach?
The strength classes, mat or reformer, does not matter - they're the most fun. In my classes, you can expect to have a lot of fun and listen to some very terrible music.
Do you have a favourite Pilates exercise?
Carriage throws. I love the absolute chaos that it causes in class!
What is your favourite thing about teaching Pilates?
My favourite thing about teaching is meeting all of the wonderful clients and helping people feel a hell of a lot stronger than they did before they walked into the room.
What do you like to do when you’re not teaching?
I am obsessed with my dog. I love to hang out with my dog, go on walks with my dog, cuddle my dog - just me and my dog.
What’s your favourite local spot?
I absolutely love Fortunate Sons on Enmore Road - a little cocktail bar with very cool staff, very good drinks, and great vibes.
What’s your best advice for someone just starting Pilates?
If you are just starting Pilates, I would say don't take yourself too seriously. Have some fun with it! Movement is meant to make you feel good, so just make sure you're moving your body, feeling good in class, and having some fun.
